Verint Receives Multiple Honors for Facial Recognition Technology

MELVILLE, N.Y.

Verint® Systems Inc. (Nasdaq: VRNT) today announced that it was named the recipient of multiple technology awards for its new Verint FaceDetect solution last month. This award recognition highlights the benefits that Verint’s advanced face recognition solution brings to government and private sector entities through sophisticated, multi-layered algorithms that help organizations protect people and property in mission-critical environments.

The Verint FaceDetect analytics solution was named a gold-level winner in video analytics in the 2018 Government Security Awardsfrom Security Today, an industry-leading security news platform for security dealers, integrators and end-users focused on innovation and problem-solving solutions. The solution also received an honorable mention in the video analytics category of Security Industry Association’s New Product Showcase, which recognizes innovative products, services and solutions in electronic physical security that protect life and property in residential, commercial and institutional settings.

Verint FaceDetect was selected for these honors for its ability to leverage artificial intelligence to imitate a human’s ability to recognize persons of interest. This innovative approach allows the technology to adapt to and learn from new scenarios, similar to how the human brain processes information. Based on a GPU-based system designed to achieve optimum performance, accuracy and scalability, it addresses the growing need for advanced facial recognition in real-world environments where heavily populated and diverse subject matter are the norm.

The Verint solution can easily leverage an organization’s existing security infrastructure and supports up to 10 cameras per GPU and video streams from any IP camera, including PTZ devices. Using Verint FaceDetect, organizations can identify persons of interest—regardless of face obstructions, aging, disguises and ethnicity.  It also features real-time and forensic comparison capabilities against large databases with millions of faces, and can instantaneously add individuals to watch-lists.

“With Verint FaceDetect, organizations can streamline investigations and empower operators to make rapid, informed decisions without expensive infrastructure changes. These facets, coupled with the solution’s accuracy and unique ability to perform in real-world environments, mark just a few of the reasons it was selected for these exciting honors,” explains Verint’s Alan Stoddard, vice president and general manager, situational intelligence solutions.
